About the Dark Portraiture

I specialize in portraitures that capture the emotions in the shadows. Most photographers use light to remove or minimize the shadows; I maximize the shadows to capture the emotion and  truth within the darkness. I am often inspired by the high contrast black and white photography of Hollywood’s golden age masters like George Hurrell. I also pull inspiration from horror movies and I am unafraid to get bloody or messy for a shoot. I enjoy creating characters or stories within my photography to keep the viewer intrigued in an image for as long as possible.
