I started this series in 2013 as a creative outlet for myself during a particularly difficult time in my life. I wanted to challenge myself artistically and create something unique. I combined the beauty of the human form with copious amounts of blood, something rarely seen outside of gratuitous horror movies, creating a juxtaposition in the artwork that both elicits a sense of intrigue and simultaneously repels the viewer. Since its inception, I have bent the original rules to create new and exciting variations of the work. All works in this series were collaborations with the models pictured, especially the ones created after the original series publication.

A few years ago I started showing images from this series at events and a new interest in the work grew. Whenever I mentioned that I had self published a book of the work I would get asked where they could buy a copy. Sadly those original copies have all sold out. There was the inevitable disappointment when people learned they wouldn’t be able to get a copy from me. I started wondering about printing a new release but the idea of just churning out the same thing again didn’t excite me. I also was sad to not be able to offer something to those that wanted it.
